The Farthing's aim to get your purchases with you as soon as possible, as we know the fun is on the receiving and not on the waiting, Thank you for taking the time to read our policies.
Standard & Express Delivery
Free delivery is standard on all orders at The Farthing when you spend over £195.00, Standard delivery is available to mainland UK customers and will be delivered via our Couriers Fedex, Royal Mail or equivalent within 2-4 days, large Parcels can take up to 2-4 days, delivery charges will be applied to your cart when ordering. Express delivery is not available on furniture or extra large items. Your order will be dispatched the same day and in most cases will be delivered the within two days - so please ensure there will be somebody in to receive the order. Express delivery can be arranged up until 1pm (to ensure the order has time to be packed and shipped), and express orders placed on Friday will be delivered the following working week day, if you require any additional information or would like to speak to us please contact us on Tel: 03445672400 alternately email us on contact@thefarthing.co.uk
Farthing Delivery T’s & C’s
For small items our standard courier service will attempt delivery twice, DX / DPD may not leave a calling card If no one is home to sign for the delivery. If a calling card is left you can contact them directly using the details on the calling card or contact our Customer Services team contact@thefarthing.co.uk. Should you not respond to the calling card within 5 days, the goods will be returned to us and a re-delivery charge may be applicable.

We will always try to deliver your order as soon as possible. For furniture deliveries we will try our best to deliver on a mutually convenient day and you will be contacted with available time slots – so there’s no staying in all day wondering when we’re going to arrive.

• Small, Medium & Large /standard items – delivery within 1-4 working days
All Items that are in stock will be dispatched as soon as possible, our usual dispatch time is 1 working day from point of order.
If a bespoke delivery is required for items that require more than one person to handle due to weight, delivery times can be longer, we will contact you before hand to arrange a more convenient date & time;
• Extra large parcels / Furniture items – delivery within 1 week
• Extra large parcels/ Furniture deliveries to Scotland 1-2 weeks
• Mixed Items – All items in stock delivered together within 1-3 working days
In stock
Items dispatched by standard delivery Via our Courier and should arrive within 2-3 working days. Our specialist couriers will contact you to arrange the delivery of large, heavy or fragile pallet delivery items.
Pre order items
Items on pre-order are currently in production/transit and due to arrive into our warehouse within the next 4-6 weeks, as soon as they arrive with us you will be notified and your order shipped to you as soon as possible.
Individual product pages state an estimated delivery time & date when an item is currently on back order.
Made to order items (not currently available)
These ranges are commissioned especially for you and have approximate lead times, we will contact you at point of order and let you know an estimated date of delivery.
Large/Heavy Furniture Items
Wherever possible, items are dispatched on a standard delivery charge. However, fragile, heavy and large items require delivery by a specialist carrier and need additional insurance. The extra charges applied are to ensure that the product reaches you in perfect condition. Delivery of fragile, heavy and large items is £57 for the mainland UK. Delivery to Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland, Scottish Islands, Isles of Scilly & Isle of Man require a bespoke delivery charge. Please email to place your order where a quote is required for shipping.
Online Purchase Returns
We want you to be delighted with every purchase from The Farthing, we've made our returns policy easy and stress free. If for any reason you are unhappy with your purchase, return it to us in its original condition to our address below or contact us via email (contact@thefarthing.co.uk) or Telephone us 0344567 2400 and we can arrange a courier to collect from you at your convenience.

Standard & Extra Large Parcels
Items must be returned within 30 days of receipt to qualify for a refund or exchange.You will be issued with a credit note for any items returned after this time. Please ensure all items are packaged securely and sufficiently to withstand delivery and in a re-sellable condition . Failure to do so may result in The Farthing being unable to refund you. We recommend that you use insured registered delivery and keep the receipt for proof of postage. We cannot accept liability for goods lost or damaged in transit. Unless the item is faulty, it is returned at your own cost. This does not affect your statutory rights.
Please take care to fully inspect your items to ensure you are happy with them before disposing of packaging as failure to do so may result in us being unable to refund you.
Furniture and Upholstery Cancellation & Returns Policy for Web & Telephone orders
Please note if you purchase furniture or upholstery from The Farthing through the website or by telephone with our mail order team you agree to the following Terms and Conditions.
Please read the statement under "Furniture Measurements" above to ensure you understand your responsibilities before ordering any furniture items.
When an item of furniture is delivered to you, it is your responsibility, to check the goods for any fault or damages. You will be required to sign a confirmation that the goods have been delivered in a satisfactory condition.
If you order furniture that is not part of our 'made to order' range you may cancel your order within 14 days of receiving the goods. You must ensure the furniture is returned to us in a perfect saleable condition and in its original packaging. Failure to do so may result in The Farthing being unable to refund you.
If you wish to purchase a 'made to order' sofa, armchair, footstool or ottoman, the order cannot be cancelled once it has been placed. If you choose to change the fabric you have chosen after placing your order, a 20% re-stocking fee will be applied (orders with customer's own fabrics cannot be amended or cancelled). Should you choose to return the furniture to us for any reason within seven days of delivery, The Farthing reserves the right to retain a 20% re-stocking fee. You must contact our mail order team either by email (contact@thefarthing.co.uk) or by telephone (01308 868599) within seven working days from date of delivery to cancel your order. You must ensure the furniture is returned to us in a perfect saleable condition and in its original packaging. Failure to do so may result in The Farthing being unable to refund you.
Sofas, armchairs, ottomans and footstools ordered with a customer's own fabric or material cannot be cancelled, returned or refunded once purchased.
We cannot be responsible for interest charges made by your credit card company whilst waiting for returns to be refunded to your card.
Cost of returning items
We require you to be responsible for the cost of returning an item to us where you have changed your mind.
Unfortunately, we are unable to refund the return postage.
*If you want to return an item of furniture you must notify us within 14 days. We can organise collection but all costs incurred through shipping are strictly non-refundable and that the customer bears all return shipping costs. Please note, this is approximately £60 for a set of drawers and £75 for a 3 seater sofa, call us on 03445672400 if you would like to know any exact return costs before making your purchase.
Refunds will be processed within 28 days of receiving the goods back from you. The refund will be made via your original method of payment. When returning goods on which you have received a discount/special offer that offer/discount will no longer apply and will be deducted from the original price.
Damaged Deliveries
We do our best to ensure that our products are wrapped sufficiently to survive its journey to you but we do have to rely on third party companies to deliver your goods to you and breakages unfortunately can happen from time to time.
If you receive a damaged item from us, please accept our apologies for any inconvenience this may cause you. Please contact us immediately to inform us quoting your order number and ideally with a photo of the damage. We will organise a collection and ship a replacement out to you immediately subject to stock availability. Please contact us and help will be at hand, email on contact@thefarthing.co.uk or please call us 03445672400 we will be happy to help arrange a courier to collect the item from you.
Measurements
Please ensure you measure correctly before placing your furniture order. Consider staircases, doorways or any tight spaces used as access points. If you need to return an item of furniture, the original delivery charge will be deducted from any refund or exchange value.

Our policy lasts 30 days. If 30 days have gone by since your purchase, unfortunately we can’t offer you a refund or exchange.
To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging.
Several types of goods are exempt from being returned. Perishable goods such as food, flowers, newspapers or magazines cannot be returned. We also do not accept products that are intimate or sanitary goods, hazardous materials, or flammable liquids or gases.

Book with obvious signs of use
CD, DVD, VHS tape, software, video game, cassette tape, or vinyl record that has been opened
Any item not in its original condition, is damaged or missing parts for reasons not due to our error
Any item that is returned more than 30 days after delivery
Refunds (if applicable)
Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.
If you are approved, then your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment, within a certain amount of days.
Late or missing refunds (if applicable)
If you haven’t received a refund yet, first check your bank account again.
Then contact your credit card company, it may take some time before your refund is officially posted.
Next contact your bank. There is often some processing time before a refund is posted.

Sale items (if applicable)
Only regular priced items may be refunded, unfortunately sale items cannot be refunded.
Exchanges (if applicable)
We only replace items if they are defective or damaged. If you need to exchange it for the same item, send us an email at contact@thefarthing.co.uk and send your item to: above address.
Gifts
If the item was marked as a gift when purchased and shipped directly to you, you’ll receive a gift credit for the value of your return. Once the returned item is received, a gift certificate will be mailed to you.
If the item wasn’t marked as a gift when purchased, or the gift giver had the order shipped to themselves to give to you later, we will send a refund to the gift giver and he will find out about your return.

You will be responsible for paying for your own shipping costs for returning your item. Shipping costs are non-refundable. If you receive a refund, the cost of return shipping will be deducted from your refund.
Depending on where you live, the time it may take for your exchanged product to reach you, may vary.
If you are shipping an item over £195, you should consider using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance. We don’t guarantee that we will receive your returned item.
